Test to Failure

R36 40° C Test to Failure (Hot profile 40° C constant)

ETR36_Refrigerated-Shipping-Container-40CTest

Container Utilized: R36
Scope of Test: Hot Test to failure at 40º C constant with maximum and minimum payloads.

Payload Maximum: 14.5 liters (29 500ml bottles) of water (31.92 lbs/14.5 kg)
Payload Minimum: 2.73-liter bag of water (6 lbs/2.8 kg)
Payload Preconditioning: 4º C
Container Preconditioning: Lid – 20° C Freezer. Base – Room Temperature

Sensor Placement: Multiple sensors used. Primary sensors for publishing were on payload and in ambient environment.

Results – Minimum: The payload temperature remained below 8º C for 16.75 hours from the time the temperature controller was set to 40º C. The temperature continued to increase slowly and reached
8.772º C when the test was stopped 4.69 hours after breaking 8º C.

Results – Maximum: The payload temperature remained below 8º C for 32.9 hours from the time the temperature controller was set to 40º C. The temperature continued to increase slowly and reached 8.54º C 6.61 hours after breaking 8º C.

R36 -10° C Test to Failure (Cold profile -10° C constant)

ETR36-Refrigerated-Shipping-Container-10CTest2Failure

Container Utilized: R36
Scope of Test: Hot Test to failure at -10º C constant with maximum and minimum payloads.

Payload Maximum: 14.5 liters (29 500ml bottles) of water (31.92 lbs/14.5 kg)
Payload Minimum: 2.73-liter bag of water (6 lbs/2.8 kg) plus 1.32 lbs/2.9 kg of Phase 5 PCM for cold stabilization (mfg recommendation).
Payload Preconditioning: 4º C.
Container Preconditioning: Lid – 20º C Freezer. Base – Room Temperature

Sensor Placement: Multiple sensors used. Primary sensors for publishing were on payload and in ambient environment.

Results – Minimum: The payload temperature remained above 2º C for 28.13 hours from the time the temperature controller was set to -10º C. The temperature continued to decrease slowly and reached 0º C at 34.39 hours after the cold cycle was started.

Results – Maximum: The payload temperature remained above 2º C for 40.2 hours from the time the temperature controller was set to -10º C.
